A body has been found during a search for a missing hillwalker in Galway.

Galway Mountain Rescue Team was called to an area near Leenane to search for a man in his 50s missing since 4.30pm yesterday afternoon.

The Dubliner had been walking alone on the northern end of the Maamturk Mountains.

The body was located on the eastern side of Leenane Hill this afternoon.
