Bill Cosby has cancelled a show in Las Vegas, after historical sexual assault allegations against the star have resurfaced.

He had been due to perform at a casino next week - but after 'mutual agreement', the show will now not go ahead.

This week the US comedian was told two of his TV projects have also been cancelled.

NBC was working on a sitcom involving the veteran entertainer, which the network says is "no longer in development".

Earlier, Netflix announced it had terminated a separate project His lawyer has described the claims as "discredited".

Fifteen women have made complaints, six of whom have identified themselves publicly.

Model and TV personality Janice Dickinson is one of the accusers. In an interview on Tuesday night, she alleged the entertainer assaulted her after a 1982 dinner in Lake Tahoe, California.

Among Cosby's other accusers is former aspiring actress Barbara Bowman, who says the comic assaulted her on multiple occasions in 1985, when she was 17.

Publicist and former actress Joan Tarshis came forward last week to allege that Cosby raped her twice when she was 19.

Cosby has remained silent throughout, but the scandal has threatened to derail his comeback bid. He has dozens of performances scheduled throughout the US and Canada until May next year.

Cosby is best known for playing Cliff Huxtable on The Cosby Show, a ratings-topping TV sitcom that ran from 1984-92.
