Anyone with an Irish name will know and understand Barbra Streisand's pain. The songstress has revealed details of her on-going beef with Apple's virtual assistant Siri.
Speaking in an interview with NPR, Streisand explained how Siri has been saying her name wrong for quite some time. The issue arose within the interview after presenter Scott Simon whipped out his iPhone and asked 'Siri, who is the only female vocalist who has had hit records for six straight decades?'
'Barbra Streizzzand,' Siri replied.
“She pronounces my name wrong. Streisand with a soft S, like sand on the beach. I’ve been saying this for my whole career."
The singer told Scott how, rather than let it dwindle on any longer, she took matters into her own hands.
"What did I do? I called the head of Apple, Tim Cook, and he delightfully agreed to have Siri change the pronunciation of my name, finally, with the next update on Sep. 30.”
"So let's see if that happens because I will be thrilled."
