After unveiling the new iPhone 6 last week, Apple released its new operating system for its devices yesterday.
People got excited. There's even a graph you can watch that show the adoption of the new system, and the banishing of the old, in real time.
iOS8. It's shiny. It's new. It lets you curse like a sailor while texting, without cursing like a sailor when your predictive text changes it to 'duck'.
The new predictive texting isn't all too dissimilar from what many Android users have had for a while, but its been impressing and distressing people in equal measure.
#ios8 then. Thoughts? Bit scary it's suggesting what I should type. I didn't even want to type that 👈🙀

But a new operating system costs, and if you haven't yet made the switch bear in mind you have a price to pay: storage space.
The Irish update requires at least 4.5 GB of free memory on your iPhone. So you had better start deleting those pictures. And emails. And songs. And epic never-ending GIF-filled group iMessage chats.
Some people were not very happy making space for the new iOS, and here are some of the best tweets we read:
How people are finding it humanly possible to make 5.7GB of their storage available for ios8 is beyond me

you'd prolly have enough space to install iOS 8 on your phone if apple hadn't put that stupid U2 album there, amirite

Another issue raised was the new feature that shows who you've been recently talking to:
so ios8 shows recently texted contacts.. this could go one of two ways for some people 😂 pic.twitter.com/rGxjOEPBnq

iOS8 is here. And anyone thinking that the millions of 'sheeple' downloading it are just mindless cogs in the corporate machine, well you also get some free books:
This is the only good thing about ios8. I got it free pic.twitter.com/9MNbLNR4E4
