Two people have been injured following a hit and run in County Carlow.
The two pedestrians - a 59-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman - were struck by a 4x4 vehicle while out walking on a local road in the Urglin Rutland area of Carlow Town at around 8.20pm yesterday evening.
The man was seriously injured, while the woman who sustained minor injuries.
They were both taken by ambulance to St Luke's General Hospital in Kilkenny.
Their injuries are believed to be non life threatening.
The driver of the vehicle failed to stop at the scene.
