Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a road traffic collision in which a man in his 20s died in Co Limerick.

The man (28) suffered serious injuries in the collision between a car and a truck on the main Doon to Cappamore Road at around 3:30pm yesterday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to the mortuary at Limerick Regional Hospital for a post mortem.

The road was closed for a time yesterday to allow for a technical examination.
