A rally against water charges is taking place this Saturday in Dublin City Centre.
Protesters plan to march from Connolly and Heuston station up along either side of the quays, with the intention of shutting the city down.
One of the key organisers is the same man who has been criticised for shouting abuse at the President last week, and is involved with the Dublin Says No group.
Paul Murphy spoke to Newstalk Breakfast this morning and said that this is not a national protest and is a very different protest from the one before Christmas.
"In terms of the protest on Saturday, one thing to stress is that this is not a national protest in Dublin taking place on Saturday. Instead, there is local and regional protests taking place across Dublin.
"This won't have the same character as the major protest which took place before Christmas.
He also stressed there will be another "national" protest in March.
Richard Guiney also joined him in studio and he asked that the protest not "shut down the city."
