Having claimed the Emmy for ‘Outstanding Variety Talk Series’ at the 2016 awards show, not to mention ‘Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series’, and the handful of trophies he’d already won for his time on The Daily Show, it’s safe to say that John Oliver took a lot of pleasure from Republican candidate Donald Trump’s recent hissy fit over The Apprentice having never won the award.

“Of course he wants an Emmy,” Oliver said on this week’s show, adding: “It’s a woman, it’s gold, and it’s proportionate to his tiny hands. It’s basically Trump’s ideal mate.”

As such, Oliver proposed a simple solution, offering the GOP candidate a wager, offering Trump his Emmy if he will concede should Hillary Clinton win at the polls in November’s election.
