One dead and three injured following shooting near California polling station

Officers are said to have come under fire when reporting to the incident

One person has died and three people injured following a reported shooting near a California polling station.

Two of the injured people have been airlifted to hospital.

No police officers are believed to have been injured in the incident in the Azusa area in LA County, although some officers are said to have been 'pinned down by gunfire'.

US media reports that a nearby school that is being used as a polling station was put on lockdown following the incident.
