More than 388,000 people are expected to pass through Dublin Airport this bank holiday weekend.

Dublin Airport Authority says passenger figures are up 10% compared to the same weekend last year.

Around 2,526 flights are expected to arrive and depart between Friday and Sunday.

13 million passengers have passed through the airport during the first six months of the year, according to airport management.

Vincent Harrison, Managing Director of Dublin Airport, said 15 new services to their route network and extra frequencies on existing routes have helped contribute to the increased passenger numbers.

Passengers are being advised to ensure they are prepared before travelling to the airport on what will be a particularly busy weekend.

People are encouraged to check what terminal their flight is departing from before leaving home, and to arrive at the terminal building at least 90 minutes before their departure time.

Anybody travelling to the airport should also ensure to leave plenty of time to get there, as there are warnings of major traffic disruption in Dublin city centre this weekend.
