Close to one third of Republican primary voters in the US support bombing Agrabah. Agrabah is the kingdom in Disney film Aladdin.

A poll by Public Policy Polling quizzed 530 Republican voters on their attitudes to foreign policy matters in the US.

The poll asked: “Would you support bombing Agrabah?” to which 30% said they would, while 57% weren’t sure, and just 13% opposed bombing the land of flying carpets and genies in lamps. When only Donald Trump supports were asked about bombing Agrabah, 41% supported it.

Some 19% of Demcorat supporters supported bombing the fictional kingdom, while 36% opposed it.
Less light-hearted were the responses to other questions. Roughly one quarter – 26% - supported making Islam illegal in the US, while 54% supported banning Muslims from entering the US (the suggestion which elicited the fiercest backlash yet against Donald Trump).

When asked if they believed “thousands of Arabs in New Jersey cheered when the World Trade Centre collapsed on 9/11”  36% said they did.

When asked if they supported shutting down Mosques in the US 28% said yes, with just 47% opposing the idea.

46% of those polled said they would support the creation of a national database of Muslims in the US.

The poll also gauged support for the different ideas among voters backing different Republican primary candidates, with supports of Ted Cruz, Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio all opposing outlawing Islam, and Trump supporters backing it.
